Government of Montenegro Announced Mediation Agencies for Citizenship Applications 21 March 2019

As is known “The Decision on Criteria, Method and Procedure for Selection of Persons Who May Acquire Montenegrin Citizenship by Admission for the Implementation of a Special Investment Program of Particular Importance for the Business and Economic Interest of Montenegro” (“Decision”) has entered into force on January 1, 2019. According to the Decision, three years period has been stipulated for the Montenegrin Economic Citizenship Program (“Program”), the Program will continue until 31 December 2021.

In accordance with the Decision, it is regulated that the persons interested in obtaining the Montenegrin citizenship by investment shall have to submit the applications through the mediation agents. Furthermore it was declared that the mediation agents shall be selected based on the conducted public call.

As result of conducted public call, Montenegrin Secretariat for Development Projects issued on 13th March 2019 the decision declaring that the bids of the following 3 companies have been selected as correct:

• APEX CAPITAL PARTNERS DOO Podgorica;
• ARTON GROUP GmbH Austria;
• HENLEY & PARTNERS GOVERNMENT SERVICES” LTD Jersey.

In the following process, the Montenegrin Secretariat for Development Projects will prepare the agreement proposals to be signed with these companies within a period of 30 days from the publication of the decision, and in the light of these proposals, these agreements will be concluded between the Government of Montenegro and the above numbered companies. After the conclusion of the agreements, companies are expected to be granted licenses and start their operations.
